Elder Dr. Erta C. Livingston, Jr.

Pastor Erta C. Livingston, Jr. is the senior pastor of Gainesville Church of God by Faith #1 in the beautiful city of Gainesville, Florida. Ordination as Elder from the Church of God by Faith, Inc. in 1989. President Church of God by Faith National Theological Institute. Completed his first unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Program at University Medical Center, currently known as UF Health, in Jacksonville, FL in 1993 and the CPE Residency Program at Shands Jacksonville in 1999. Earned his Bachelors of Theology from Oral Roberts University in Jacksonville, Florida in 1995. He earned his Masters of Divinity from Faith Bible College in Baltimore, Maryland in 1997. PhD. in 1999 at Luther Rice Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia. Serves on many boards and committees including the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Ethics Committee, and the Integrative Medicine Advisory Board, Chaplaincy Advisor to Jacksonville Theological Seminary since 2009 Recently appointed International Advisor to the Board of Directors Jacksonville Theological Seminary in 2015. Erta C. Livingston, Jr. is currently the Director of Patient Services at Shands/UF Health Jacksonville, FL. He has served in the past as the Director of Pastoral Care at this facility. He is a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) through the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), a Board Certified Counselor with the National Association of Biblical Counselors (NABC), and has been appointed State Membership Chair by the State Representative of the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC). Erta C. Livingston, Jr. is married to Debbra A. Livingston. They have 4 children to include 3 lovely daughters - Marlena, Ertrice and Desiree and one son Christopher. They have one beautiful granddaughter, Alani. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and traveling. He lives by his motto - "Never Rest until your Good becomes better and your Better becomes your Best.
